Cabernet


  • Alike Merlot, also the Cabernet arrived in Friuli at the end of the 19th century, finding it as a perfect place to grow up and being fruitful. It is the second most popular grape in Friuli after the Merlot.

  • In our region most people like it pretty young, to get the most of its intensity and its typical wild grass scents. Cabernet Valchiarò - a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon - is also good for ageing thanks to the long maceration, which gives it a solid tannic mixture of flavours.
